Public Podcast: AMAC CEO Rebecca Weber
by Tammy on May 9, 2022As you all know, my column moved this year from the Washington Times to AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens. I made this move because of the work AMAC is doing on all fronts for all Americans as a conservative advocacy for all of us. Recently, AMAC did great work regarding the increasingly woke agenda of Disney, as evidenced by their attempting to interfere with Florida legislation meant to secure parents rights in the classrooms of their children. I speak with Rebecca about AMAC, its work, and their AMAC Action hub which does a great job on the issues we care about. It has become very apparent it’s time we all stand up for our values and the principles...

WWII Submarine Missing 75 Years Found Off Japan Coast: ‘We Just Found 80 Men’
by Shifra on November 11, 2019Rest In Peace, heroes all. Via NYT. A 75-year-old mystery has been solved, and the families of 80 American sailors lost at sea will now have closure: the U.S.S. Grayback has finally been found…. The mystery began on Jan. 28, 1944, when the Grayback, one of the most successful American submarines of World War II, sailed out of Pearl Harbor for its 10th combat patrol. By late March it was more than three weeks overdue to return, and the Navy listed the submarine as missing and presumed lost…. The Grayback was thought to have gone down in the open ocean 100 miles east-southeast of Okinawa. But the Navy had unknowingly relied on a flawed translation of Japanese war records that...

John Adams: Celebrate July 4 With Devotion to God, Pomp And Parade, Guns, Bells
by Shifra on July 4, 2019Founding Father John Adams, who served as our second POTUS, foresaw the yearly marking of Independence Day as one of celebration, with “guns, bells, bonfires”… and I am sure he would have approved of today’s Washington DC July 4th parade, with two Bradley armored vehicles, two Abrams tanks, a procession of aircraft, including Air Force One and the Blue Angels, roaring through the skies. 🙂 (Letter from John Adams to Abigail Adams, 3 July 1776, “Had a Declaration…” [electronic edition]. Adams Family Papers: An Electronic Archive. Massachusetts Historical Society. http://www.masshist.org/digitaladams/ ) And we will not let the Leftists who hate America rain on our parade. This week, the NYT published this absurd nonsense: “The myth of America as the greatest...

Pennsylvania School Bars Principal From Saying ‘God Bless America’
by Shifra on May 9, 2019Tammy notes, in her latest Washington Times column, How the left targets American history, statues and heroes: In the recent past, attempts to erase American history manifested as protests to remove and vandalizing statues commemorating Confederate generals and Southern Civil War dead. But our past is a fact, one that reminds us how far we have come. We absolutely should have conversations about our history, as being an American is like practicing medicine — you must work at it every day. But becoming a better people and nation requires knowing and understanding your past. Toppling statues and erasing people from paintings and pictures accomplishes one thing — making it impossible to understand who we are….. And erasing beloved patriotic sayings....

School Apologizes After Pledge of Allegiance Recited… In Spanish
by Shifra on November 28, 2018Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish…and German? From the Dept. of What were they thinking? Via Washington Times. Administrators at a Virginia high school have apologized for a plan to have the Pledge of Allegiance said in different languages by students. Westfield High School in Fairfax came under fire before Thanksgiving by upset parents when they found out that their children were being asked to recite the Pledge in Spanish. The original plan was to have native speakers of various languages, such as French or German, lead others in the routine. “A school administrator suggested students lead the pledge in Spanish to promote engagement and inclusion,” a statement released to a local Fox affiliate said. “Administrators believed this was...

Video: Ballgame Announces No Anthem… Crowd Sings It Anyway
by Shifra on May 27, 2018As Tammy says: I love us. Via Fox News. What happens when the national anthem isn’t played before a ballgame? In Fresno, Calif., first the crowd boos, then it takes it upon themselves to sing it anyway — a cappella. In a show of patriotism before Memorial Day, the crowd at a high school softball championship game at Fresno State’s Margie Wright Diamond on Friday night launched into their own rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” after it was announced that the song wouldn’t be played because it had already been played before an earlier game…. Bob Kayajanian, event coordinator, told the Bee that when more than one game is played in a day, the anthem is typically played only before...

California NAACP Wants To Remove ‘Racist’ Star-Spangled Banner
by Tammy on November 9, 2017First, moonbats move to remove the memorial for George Washington at his church and now this. President Trump was right about where this nonsense leads if we allow it. Via Daily Caller. The California NAACP is coming after a new symbol of American heritage for its “racism.” The Star-Spangled Banner. According to SFGate.com, the national anthem is a “racist song” and the NAACP wants to push state lawmakers to change it. Alice Huffman, the president of the California chapter of the NAACP, said the song is “racist” and that it “doesn’t represent our community. It’s anti-black people.” The cites the song’s third verse, which is usually not sang, as evidence of its racist overtones. The third verse includes a line...

Pence Walks Out Of Football Game After Players Kneel
by Tammy on October 8, 2017Good for him. Several San Francisco 49ers players reportedly knelt during the anthem. All Colts stood for the anthem. Via USA Today. Vice President Mike Pence said he left Sunday’s Indianapolis Colts game after several players from the San Francisco 49ers chose to kneel during the national anthem. “I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” Pence wrote in a tweet. At least 15 players from the 49ers were seen kneeling during the anthem. Colts players stood arm-in-arm. Pence has followed President Trump’s lead by criticizing players who do not stand for the anthem. Last week approximately 30 players from the 49ers kneeled in...

Flashback: Usain Bolt Stops Interview at Olympics… For National Anthem
by Shifra on September 29, 2017Usain Bolt is an eight-time Olympic gold medalist from Jamaica. And, in this video, he shows respect for our anthem; take notes, NFL! Via CNS News. While some NFL players are kneeling at games in protest, apparently against alleged police brutality, it is refreshing to note that some non-Americans have great respect for the Star Spangled Banner, such as Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, who even stopped an interview with a reporter and turned to listen and honor the national anthem. During the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Bolt, an eight-time Olympic gold medalist in sprinting, was interviewed by Spain’s Television Espanola. As they were talking, the national anthem began and Bolt stopped the interview, turned around, and listened as the anthem...
